- Contribution into the Economic Intelligence paper on "The future of healthcare in Africa." The focus of the paper was on changing healthcare demands in Africa, in particular, the rising incidence of chronic disease, problems with the distribution and supply of medicine and the growth of an urban middles class with higher expectations of healthcare and a willingness to opt in some cases for private treatment. The paper set the background for a Healthcare in Africa conference in March 2012 in Cape Town, and aims to provide an overview of how the healthcare sector might evolve over the next 15 years.
